About Basketball in Australia
Basketball is a fast-paced, high-energy sport that combines athleticism, strategy, and teamwork. It can be played outdoors on a half-court or indoors in a full competition setting, making it one of the most accessible team sports in Australia.
Getting Started
Many local leisure centres run social basketball competitions and 3x3 competitions that welcome players of all abilities. Basketball Australia's 'Big V', 'NBL1', and state league competitions offer a pathway for more competitive players.

Basketball is played in every Australian capital city and most regional centres, with indoor stadiums and outdoor courts widely available.
