Beginner
Have been hitting with my wife who is a beginner the last 6 months, now looking for someone a bit more advanced to hit with on weekdays, late arvo, maybe weekends, South Perth. No experience before that but played plenty of cricket so coord is not too bad. Would like to get more practice in before deciding if I want to play competitively.

I used to play competitively (Victorian points tournaments, Grade 2 Pennant and Saturday afternoon comp) from 11 y.o -19 y.o and also used to coach kids (and some adults) part time. In the last several years I have been hitting again and am looking for someone competent to hit with at Melbourne Park (clay or pexicushion). Not really interested in full-on matches, just hitting (due to a lower back injury a few years ago).

About Tennis in Australia
Tennis is one of Australia's most widely played sports, enjoyed by people of all ages and fitness levels. From casual hit-abouts on a local court to competitive club competitions, tennis is an accessible and social sport that improves coordination, fitness, and mental agility.
Getting Started
All you need to start is a racquet, a can of balls, and a willing partner. Most local councils run beginner coaching programs, and Tennis Australia's 'Hot Shots' program provides a great pathway for younger players. Club memberships offer access to well-maintained courts, competitions, and social events.
Tennis in Australia
Tennis clubs and public courts can be found in every Australian city and regional town. Major hubs include Melbourne (home of the Australian Open), Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth. Search Sports Match Maker to find a tennis partner near you, whether you're a beginner looking for a knock-around or an experienced player after a competitive match.
