About Disabled sports in Australia
Disabled sports — also known as para-sport — provides athletes with a disability the opportunity to compete and participate in a wide range of physical activities. From wheelchair basketball to blind cricket, disabled sports fosters inclusion, independence, and elite athletic achievement.
Getting Started
Paralympics Australia and state-based disability sport organisations provide pathways into dozens of sporting disciplines. Many mainstream clubs also run inclusive programs. Speaking with your local sport's governing body is the best first step to finding the right activity.
