I’m 25yo and I’m completely new to tennis. Looking for someone to play with to learn and have fun but with the intent of getting better and taking it seriously I’m based in Parkville and I’d rather play nearby (not +5km) and in public courts at this very beginner stage. I’m usually free on weekdays or Sunday. Looking for regular mates to play with.

I started playing around 4 years ago. Haven’t played in a while. Moved to Melbourne 6 months ago and I am missing the feel of hitting a tennis ball. I have good ground strokes, I can be a very good hitting partner for rallies. I’d like to play regularly, in week days and weekends as it is convenient . I live and work along St kilda road. I dont drive. I can travel using public transport to nearby locations. Please sms me 0451 808 128.

Looking for frequent beginner / intermediate hitting partners around Melbourne CBD / Inner suburbs. Prefer to just have a hit rather than matches at the moment as I still need to develop my serve. Ideally looking for someone with a bit of stamina who is not a complete beginner.

Hi guys, Been playing for 23 years and played tournaments from 6-18 (in Germany). Since then I’ve only been playing irregularly but would love to properly get back into it. I have a pretty straight, powerful hit and my rally game is good - there just might be some inconsistency to start off with! Prefer hitting balls over actual games as I haven’t practised my serves in a while. Clay courts are my favourite, but open to play on hard or grass. Any courts in closish proximity to Richmond are good for me. This month available anytime, then mostly week nights or weekends. Cheers, Christina

About Tennis in Australia
Tennis is one of Australia's most widely played sports, enjoyed by people of all ages and fitness levels. From casual hit-abouts on a local court to competitive club competitions, tennis is an accessible and social sport that improves coordination, fitness, and mental agility.
Getting Started
All you need to start is a racquet, a can of balls, and a willing partner. Most local councils run beginner coaching programs, and Tennis Australia's 'Hot Shots' program provides a great pathway for younger players. Club memberships offer access to well-maintained courts, competitions, and social events.
Tennis in Australia
Tennis clubs and public courts can be found in every Australian city and regional town. Major hubs include Melbourne (home of the Australian Open), Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth. Search Sports Match Maker to find a tennis partner near you, whether you're a beginner looking for a knock-around or an experienced player after a competitive match.
